Privacy policy
What this website does with your data — and what it does not. The short answer is in the second section.

We have not appointed a data protection officer; as a small business we are not required to.
The short version
This website is deliberately plain. It counts nobody, tracks nobody and passes nothing to advertising networks. There are no analytics tools, no social media plugins and no embedded maps or videos. Anyone who merely reads the site leaves nothing behind beyond the technically necessary access data held by the host.
Access data (server log files)
When you visit this website, your browser transmits technical information which our host stores in log files:
- IP address
- date and time of the request
- the address requested
- the previously visited page, if transmitted
- browser and operating system
This data is required for the site to be delivered at all and helps to detect faults and attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and functioning service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not combine this data with other sources and do not analyse it on a personal level.
Hosting

The host processes the access data named above solely on our behalf and according to our instructions, under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
Cookies
This website sets exactly one cookie called “NEXT_LOCALE”. It holds nothing but the chosen language — “de” or “en” — so that the site does not greet you in German again after you have chosen English. It contains no identifier by which anyone could be recognised, and it is deleted as soon as you close your browser.
Because this cookie is strictly necessary for a function you explicitly requested, no consent is required (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). For the same reason there is no cookie banner here — there would be nothing to decline.
Fonts and images
All fonts and images are stored on our own server and delivered from there. In particular, the Google Fonts used are not loaded from Google but downloaded once when the site is built and shipped with it. Visiting this site therefore creates no connection to Google.
The map of Freiburg's old town on the contact page likewise loads nothing. The aerial image comes from the State Office for Geoinformation and Rural Development of Baden-Württemberg (open data) and sits as an image file on our own server; the street network drawn over it comes from OpenStreetMap geodata. It is not an embedded third-party map, and no map service is called.
Links to Instagram, Wolt and Google Maps
In several places we link to third-party services: our Instagram profile, the ordering page at Wolt and our Google Maps entry. These are ordinary links, not embeds — data is only transmitted once you click. From that moment on, the respective provider’s privacy policy applies:
Orders are handled exclusively via Wolt. Any data arising there is processed by Wolt on its own responsibility, not by us.
If you write or call us
This website has no contact form and no booking function — we do not take reservations, you simply drop by. If you call or email us of your own accord, we process your details only in order to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We delete them as soon as they are no longer needed, unless a retention period applies.
Your rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
